Here's the final chapter of Numbers and we leave of with two ideas. The first is that when God distributed the land to Israel He intended for the tribes to hold their portion for ever. In the event that a family only had daughters provisions were made to ensure that one tribe couldn't take more property. The second idea is the jubilee as mentioned. This concept had to come from God, every fifty years property and business accounts were reset and started over. Throughout history no economic system has survived long term, today we are facing global economic collapse, the only thing keeping the world still running is governments spending money that doesn't exist to artificially keep things afloat. Also of note is there is no evidence that Israel ever celebrated a jubilee, I suppose that humanity couldn't see past their own greed to embrace God's system.
