April 29, II Samuel 1:11-27

April 29, II Samuel 1:11-27

David mourns the loss of the king and his closest friend Jonathan.  Even though Saul had so much enmity for David, David knew what the killing of a king does to a nation, it fragments it.  David sings a song for remembrance and mourning. Because of verse 26 some claim that David and Jonathan had a homosexual relationship but it doesn't say that at all. The bond between these men was a friendship closer than a marriage bond but there is nothing anywhere to indicate anything sexual.  David as the next king had the authority to dispense justice, in the case here of the Amalekite, he confessed to killing the king, although David had no way to know it was a lie he was right in his actions.  Justice should be swift, perhaps not that swift but it should not take several years.

Today's workout, cardio 30 intervals.  High knees, grapevine, squat, jump rope, windmill.
