July 13, I Kings 8:22-30

July 13, I Kings 8:22-30

After the temple is dedicated Solomon prays a prayer over the people, and a praise to God.  He acknowledges God's sovereignty, that God is bigger than any house, that the heavens above can't contain God.  He praises God for fulfilling the promise to David and also notes that's dependent on obedience. And his plea that God will listen and hear the prayers when men pray towards this place.  Some compare the temple to a type of Christ, so in essence then Solomon suggests that the prayers of men should be to Christ.
