September 28, II Kings 12:1-3 One must tear down the high places

The text today tells us that Joash (or in some texts Jehoash) was a good king who walked upright before The Lord. But he didn't tear down the high places outsie of Jerusalem where people still worshiped idols. Here is another reason why it's important to study the whole scripture.  In 2 Chronicles chapter 24 we learn that when the priest who raised Joash dies, that strong influence of God on his life is gone and he begins to listen to people of the world. And in his later years he too slide into idolatry. Just as an alcoholic can never drink again, a Christian needs to tear down any of the old high places so they can never go back there again. And we all need strong brothers and sisters to keep us close to The Word.

Today's workout, push intervals.
Step, push-up, grapevine, squat, jump-rope, triceps, lunge, shoulder press.
