I skipped over the last part of chapter 3, while the genealogy is important it's also a bit boring. Here we're told that Jesus is in the wilderness for 40 days but we only have a few of the temptations, certainly there were more, probably several each day. Perhaps even constant temptations. But everything that was promised is only temporary, that's what evil always promises, something that's temporary. The promise from God is for eternity, the choice isn't always easy but try to keep that in mind.
