December 15, Luke 15 Be glad for others' good fortune

There are three distinct stories here but the underlying message is the same. Jesus is speaking with tax collectors and sinners but the religious folks are being judgmental. Still happens, how can you possibly hang with those people?  The story of the lost sheep is what should happen, the one sheep did't know it was lost, like so many people. And when it's found and returned it's welcomed into the flock. The other sheep aren't mad because the shepherd went for it. The coin is lost and found so the friends are glad for it's owner. But the one son returns and the brother is mad. He has a self righteous attitude. Why would the father forgive his son who treated him so badly? Because he is his father and grace is unlimited. Carman wrote a song called The River some time ago; It doesn't matter who you are, It doesn't matter where you've been, It doesn't matter what the scar,
It doesn't matter what the sin, It doesn't matter how you fell, Somewhere along the way, There is healing for your life today. If you've gone astray, come back for His grace and if your brother returns from wherever he may have been, rejoice at his return.
