January 27, Nehemiah 2:1-8 Better than an emoji

It's been four months since chapter one, we don't know what's happened in that time, maybe this is the first time Nehemiah has seen Xerxes since then. The king could see in Nehemiah's face that something was wrong. Here is a great example of why I don't like our technical socializing.  We send texts, e-mails and communicate through facebook or twitter. What we don't see is someone's face or hear the tone of their voice. How would the king know that Nehemiah was troubled if they were just texting? How do you know what your friends are feeling if you never see them? Nehemiah was bold in asking these things of the king but there were two important things in his favor, King Artaxerxes obviously cared about him, God was moving in his life. There's an old bromide (there's a word you don't see much), no-one cares how much you know until they know how much you care. Hard to do that through a phone.

Today's workout. PM full body intervals,
squat, row, hamstring curl, push-up, lunge, biceps curl, T, triceps extension.
