This last section is a prophecy of a time to come and there are a lot of differing opinions. Some believe it speaks of the final heaven and earth as depicted in The Revelation, others a time of prosperity for Israel, and some what many call the millennial period. I tend to fall somewhere in the middle of this. I don't believe that it's the last because people are still borne, age and die. The teachings of Jesus indicate that in the final kingdom that doesn't happen. Regardless of when it comes to pass, it will be a time of great peace and prosperity for Israel and Jerusalem. A time when God will not remember their past but focus only on their present. As Christians we live in that state today, God no longer remembers our past, even though we do. I think we limit our own freedom and the grace available when we hold on to our past.
